This Week’s Instagrams

This Week’s Instagrams

If you love Instagram as much as I do, then you probably take TONS of photos everyday! Having two little babies now, I feel like my photos have been primarily about them. The focus is more “family” orientated, but that will slow down in time I’m sure! If you aren’t following, feel free to look me up: hellolidy!  Here are a few pictures I have snapped over this past week!  My husband returned to his full time job as a 4th grade teacher; I started my new job as a full time mom! My husband and our little boy have a night time tradition: reading a book in the tipi with a flashlight. It’s the cutest thing to see! I also got around to hanging our cute little squirrel hanger in the nursery! I felt like I got something done….even though it’s so small!  A friend dropped off TONS of  clothes and shoes for our little girl! She now has more shoes then I do, well, almost! My little boy and I were sitting on the floor playing a game, I realized we were sitting exactly the same. It was a sweet moment… We did a lot of swimming this week! It’s been so hot, so the pool is great for the kids! We also went on our first walk…it was WAY too hot. It’s lasted only a few short blocks.   My little man brought me a pretty little flower from outside. Yes, it’s dead but he sure tried! We went to our favorite antique store this weekend while we were kid-free for a couple hours. We managed...
Last Summer Road Trip

Last Summer Road Trip

My husband and I are taking one more week to get away before summer comes to an end and life goes back to school and work galore! We recently celebrated our 5th anniversary in San Francisco! It was so fun, it’s truly a lovely city to visit! We had the windows down, the tunes pumped and our favorite snacks out and ready to eat! I love road trips, they are always so fun! We enjoyed the big Bay Bridge and enjoyed the beauty of San Francisco as we got closer to the city. We took the trolley around and stopped in all sorts of cute shops and eateries! We enjoyed a nice chocolate croissant and fresh cup of coffee at the Ghirardelli square…so yummy! I had to visit a super cute shop, Gigi and Rose, and drool over all the treasures! My husband found a little store he fell in love with…all reclaimed hardwood! We took notes and dreamed up ideas for our home! While we are here in northern California, we are most certainly picking up some more reclaimed wood so we can make more one-of-a-kind pieces like this one! We walked a lot! Up those steep hills and eventually made our way to crooked street! If I lived in San Fran, I would be in amazing shape! I was so tired after all the ups and downs! I love these times with my husband! I am trying to enjoy our get-aways as much as possible before our little one arrives! What have you been up to this summer? Do you feel like I do, busy and always going...
Beachy Life

Beachy Life

Well my friends, I may be in and out of the blog world this week. I said farewell to my hubby for 10 days, as he went off to Haiti. I also had my folks drive in from Canada for the next week, so we will be heading out of town as often as possible to escape this crazy hot weather! I have  a lot of things planned – a fun giveaway, a little something to do with paint paint paint and a few fabulous DIYs – hopefully next week! Stay tuned, which I know you always do!  Today I wanted to share with you my time away at the beach last weekend. My husband and I escaped the hot temperatures and took the time to visit family out of town. We had a couple days at the beach, which was perfectly glorious! I just don’t know why I can’t live closer to the coast!  Here is our trip through instagram! Hope you enjoy!  The heat was out of control back home! It was amazing once we got to the coast….perfect beach weather if you ask me!  We cooked up some tasty dinner on the fire and BBQ! It was so nice being able to enjoy spending the evening outside! We soaked up the sun, splashed in the ocean and enjoyed our time with family! We finished our last day with some delicious mexican food and grabbed dessert at a new hot spot, Boxd! I love how they serve their delicious treats from recycled shipping containers! Super fun! I’m thinking this will be a place we will visit often!  Hope...
Escape to the Sierra Mountains

Escape to the Sierra Mountains

This past week my husband and I were up in the beautiful Sierra Mountains. We had no cell service or internet, which forced us to find other ways to have fun and relax. I love being able to go on vacation and not have to worry about all the duties I would normally have to attend to. It felt rejuvenating and that’s what I needed! Do you ever need to just get away from the demands of life? I have been feeling like I needed a time to refuel and not feel bad for putting things on hold for a short time. It’s amazing how busy life gets and you can’t remember the last time you had any time to yourself. This week was exactly what I needed and now I feel great! I took a few pictures on Instagram to share with you! Thank you for being patient and for always being such a faithful reader!  It’s good to be back! Can’t wait to share more with you this week! XOXO,...

The past few weekends have been quite eventful around here! I thought I would share with you snapshots (thanks to instagram) of our wonderful time! A couple weekends ago, we managed to get out of town and head to San Diego to see some family! The weather was perfect and we had a nice, relaxing time! I always enjoy my visits with my brother-in-law, sister-in-law and little nephew (soon to be niece too!). They are wonderful company! Top left: Wishing I lived closer to this gorgeous ocean Top right: My sweet little nephew, I love him so much! Bottom Left: Paid a little visit to our favorite place to get frozen yogurt! Bottom right: My sweet sister-in-law got us this amazing vintage-inspired doll for our baby!  This weekend, we headed out of town again! Lucky us! This doesn’t happen too often. We headed towards Pasadena to spend the day with some close friends. Left: Heading out of the crazy heat and smog! Middle: My hubby enjoying the quiet scenery. Right: Some pretty swans swimming in a lake during our nice walk. Left: Got some much needed work done and out of the way! I will be sharing with you all about it real soon! Insta-Replay: Room for baby

Insta-Replay: Room for baby

We had a busy weekend, I must say! It was a great one though, so I thought I would share with you our crazy adventures the last couple days! Our lives are slowly getting ready to welcome our sweet little baby, so we had a lot of work to do! First thing was first! We had to clear out our guest/craft/storage room! Goodbye yellow, hello gender neutral grey (gray for my American friends)! Our walls are all done and we now have a nursery! Rearranging wasn’t as easy as I thought it would be! It may not be completely put together yet, but it sure looks a lot better than before! Feels so good to have the room ready to go! I’m planning on using these vintage sheets  for a fun DIY project this week! A tipi for the nursery! We took a huge leap and made a decision to buy a new car! Signing the papers and making it official! We’ve been needing one for some time now, so we finally bit the bullet! Meet our lovely new Scion XB! A great family car! What did you get up to this weekend? I would love to hear all about it! XOXO, Lidy  ...

I’ve been noticing that these kinds of posts are getting a bit more popular! I’ve seen a lot of them popping up on Hellocotton lately, so I thought I would give it a go and see how you like it! I’m calling it Insta-replay….looking back over my week in pictures!   My life has been crazy, but I always seem to manage to capture most of my adventures on Instagram! Hope you enjoy these little moments of my life!  Started my weekend off with a bang! Went to my third Creative Connection meet up! Saw some familiar faces and also met some new friends as well!  Slowly becoming more and more fascinated with this neon yellow trend….I don’t know, what do you think? Got a little surprise in the mail the other day: our invite to our first baby shower (in California that is)! My dear friend, Kyla,  did a great job putting them together!  Of course, this meant registering! My husband and I had a lot of fun with the scanner!  Forgot just how much I love having game nights with friends! This is one of my all time favorites: Settlers of Catan. Yes, I am a geek when it comes to board games! Having fun with fun dip! Decided to go back to the gym this week after a couple months off. Yep, still can’t move.  Working hard at school….only 2 more weeks left and then summer break for me!  There you go, a few quick snapshots of my life in Instagrams! Let me know if you like this new category or if you have any suggestions! I...
