May is a very special month at our house! We are celebrating TWO of our kiddos birthday’s this year for the FIRST time. Ever. We are in the process of adoption, so it’s a very special time of year! Our little girl turned two at the beginning of this month and our little boy will turn 3 at the end! So, I’m going to be throwing two parties in one month and things can get a little crazy!
Right now at Safeway, Vons or Pavilions you can get two 2 liters of 7UP brand sodas, a box of Betty Crocker Cake Mix, Betty Crocker frosting and 24 rainbow candles for only FIVE DOLLARS!! It’s an amazing deal, which is perfect for me! It has saved me a lot of money, especially planning these two birthdays in one month! Keep in mind, you will need a club card to take advantage of this deal.
Not only is this month packed full of birthdays, but we have a lot of other amazing things going on worth celebrating also! We recently introduced another new family member into our home this month. A little baby brother to our two little ones! He is the sweetest little man and we are SO blessed to have him with his siblings and in our family at last. It’s also my first Mother’s Day this year and my mom happens to be here visiting over this wonderful holiday as well. Yay! I am so overwhelmed with all the blessings going on in my life lately, so I have so many reasons to celebrate! If you don’t have a birthday this month, don’t sweat it! There are plenty of reasons to take advantage of this fabulous deal running form April 24th through May 21st! It can be the smallest of celebrations, it’s the perfect bundle for your event!
To celebrate all these great happenings in our lives, I decided to make a fun cake and share it with my little family! I thought a Rootbeer Float Cake would be perfect for all ages!
Betty Crocker White Cake Mix
1 1/4 cup cold A&W Rootbeer (optional: diet)
1/4 cup canola oil
Betty Crocker Cream Cheese Frosting
2 Tbsp of Maraschino Cherry juice
Pour all cake ingredients into a large bowl and beat on low for two minutes or three minutes by hand. Pour the mixture into a 13 x 9 inch greased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until inserted pick comes out clean.
In a separate bowl, empty the container of cream cheese frosting. Add the two tbsp of maraschino cherry juice and mix until well blended. You should have a nice pink color! Frost cake and serve!
We had so much fun celebrating together, but we look forward to their actual parties later this month! This is such a great package, I plan on getting a few more for the birthday parties coming up – the kids will love any excuse to have more cake!
