Happy Monday friends! I’m so excited to be a part of Merry Magazine, a holiday guide packed with inspiration: DIYs, decor, recipes and so much more! A HUGE thank you to my very talented friend Melissa of The Sweet Escape for all her hard work and for putting it together so beautifully! Be sure to sit back, relax and enjoy every page – it’s truly stunning!
Last week, I showed you my Christmas Mantle Three Ways and today I’m sharing a little Christmas home tour! Let’s start in my favorite space: the living room! As I’m sure you know, we love to decorate for the holidays! Every year we try to mix things up with new and old pieces for the season. Since it’s our first year in this home, we wanted to create an atmosphere that perpetuated happy memories for the future and a calm sense of welcoming for our guests! Our formal living room is naturally very light and bright, so we stuck with decor that would really set off those qualities.
I brought in a lot of metallic pieces that would flow with pops of white and natural elements, such as our cedar and magnolia garland over the fireplace and simple firewood. I wanted the space to have that magical Christmas feel. We opted for a white tree this year for this room. It really reflects all the white snow you can so clearly see from our large front window. It’s almost like those two worlds collide and there really is no barrier from the inside out, keeping it simple and organic.
For our dining room, we brought in a lot of natural greenery to really set the foundation for the space with pops of red and gold to give it a more traditional feel. We wanted it to be a little more playful, so we added a fun little pom-pom garland to hang naturally across the dining table. We kept the decor quite simple, as to not overwhelm the space.
So there you have it friends! I little peek into our home for holidays – thank you for making it through all the pictures and chatter! So, tell me, what is your holiday style?!
