I am a big fan of researching the affects of colors, since I am usually doing something drastic to the interior of my home! I’ve had many regrets painting certain colors in certain spaces, so I am a little bit obsessed with picking out colors for my home. Hence, researching before I dive into any projects! This a bit new to the blog, so I hope you find it as useful as I have so far! Every color has positive and negative affects. It’s just up to you how you use that color! Last week I discussed the positive affects of white: hygiene, sterility, clarity, purity, cleanness, simplicity, sophistication, efficiency. But if you have too much white it can give your space a negative affect: sterility, coldness, barriers, unfriendliness, elitism. I think it’s always helpful to know these kinds of things before you invest your time and money in big projects for your home!
This week I decided to focus on the fabulous color Orange:
There’s just something about orange I can’t put my finger on! It takes confidence to wear it and display it in your home as a focal point. I have to admit, I don’t own a lot of clothing that’s orange and my home is definitely lacking it. Perhaps I need to be more bold and try it out?!
It’s so refreshing to look at! It reminds me of a wonderful day spent outside, soaking in the sun and feeling full of energy!
How do you feel about the color orange? Positive: Physical comfort, food, warmth, security, sensuality, passion, abundance, fun. Negative: Deprivation, frustration, frivolity, immaturity.
