Last weekend we celebrated our little girl’s second birthday! This was, however, our first birthday spent with her. It meant so much to us to really make her feel special and do something fun and meaningful. I decided a while ago to do a Russian doll theme party – mostly because this theme really centered around her cute personality! In a lot of ways, she is our little “doll”. She has so much personality and the more we get to know her, the more we discover just how special she really is. She isn’t just any girl, she is our girl.

This party was so fun to plan! I decided to add a feminine touch using this great Retro Floral Garden Party decor from Minted! I was able to save myself so much time and really pull together a cohesive look in every little detail: from the straws, to the stickers, to the banner, the menu cards, to the goodie bags, it was perfect! I was even able to design the invites, cake topper and other signage with a similar color palette for the party to match my wonderfully Minted look and help stay focused on my Russian doll theme I was going for. I am so happy with how it all turned out! 

The best part is, our little girl’s eyes just lit up when she saw all the pretty floral patterns and pinks everywhere! Before all the guests arrived, her and I walked around the tables and looked at all the pretties! She was constantly pointing out every little thing – it truly made me feel satisfied knowing that she got it. That it was all for her! 

The guests arrived and we all had a fabulous time! We enjoyed the treats and visited for a while! It was a really hot day, so the kids ended up playing in the water and having a blast. There were no planned games or agendas (what toddler could sit still long enough anyway) and I think it worked out perfectly! We let them run around and do what they pleased. There was no screaming, crying or fights! This mom was happy! 

I am so blessed by all the people who came out to celebrate our daughter. We have some amazing friends and I am so happy my mom was here to celebrate her first (technically second) birthday with us as well! This is something we will always remember – hence ALL the pictures!!!! A huge thanks to my husband and mom for helping me pull this together! 

I can’t wait to plan her next one, but I better stay focused on her big brother’s! His birthday is also this month, so I only have a few days to get everything together! Love party planning for our little ones! Good thing we have three now!
