I know it’s been a while since I’ve done my House Hunting feature. To be quite honest, it’s so depressing trying to sell a home you LOVE and buy another you hope will compare! We’ve lived in our home for 6 years and with it comes so many happy memories. It’s hard to say goodbye…
Needless to say, today’s post won’t be how I would remodel a home, today I’m starting with the basics. The home in my first house hunting post sold within a few days being on the market, because that’s how it works in Calgary. You see something you want and it’s gone in a blink of an eye.
As we are working on selling our house and getting things squared away, I’m feeling more free to look more seriously. But here’s the catch: Calgary homes cost FOUR times more than our California home. Yes, it’s insane.
I came across this house, which I can easily see ourselves fitting into comfortably. I’m afraid to shout from the rooftops that this is the one, I’m sure it will be gone before I know it. The green house (which we shall call this one) has 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, plus a full finished basement with a hobby room (possible office and crafting space), media room, workshop (for Joel’s projects), laundry room and extra storage! Plenty of space for our growing family! It’s bright and open, which is something I love about our current house right now.
It would be a dream to move into a house that doesn’t require too much fixing up and ready to be moved in. I get heart palpitations thinking about packing up all our stuff, making this long trip to Canada, unpacking, settling in all while trying to control three wild toddlers.

For now, I’m taking it a step at a time. First thing, sell our house. Second, find new house. It’s that simple, right?! I wish. Do you have any packing, moving, buying, selling advice?! I would love to hear it!
