Around this time of year, I am always short on time! I really needed a new tree skirt for our white tree, but I don’t want to face the Christmas rush that’s already flooding the stores! I decided to make my own, but seeing as I don’t have a whole lot of spare time, I opted for simple materials in order to make my own! And yes, it only took me 20 minutes!
Thick piece of white felt
4 rectangles of black felt with sticky back
Measure the circumference of your tree, depending on how big you want your skirt to be. Cut a circle out of your white felt according to your measurements. Cut a slit to the center of your white felt and cut our a small circle so the circle is directly in the center. This will be your tree skirt. Iron if needed.
Trace out any shape you would like on the backs of your black felt (I chose a swiss cross design – surprise surprise!). Cut out your shapes.
Peel the backs off the black felt and press firmly on your white felt. Continue until you have the desired pattern on your tree skirt! Place your skirt under your tree and enjoy!
This only took me 20 minutes, if it takes a little longer, no worries! It’s fun making something that’s festive and so easy!
