Yesterday I shared with you guys our 90s brass light fixture‘s before pictures! I asked my Instagram friends what they thought the end result would be and let me tell you, some of them were right on the money! I have such fabulous, creative and imaginative followers. Great guesses guys!
We totally repurposed our 90s brass light fixture into a faux glass faceted terrarium of sorts! I have been looking at Urban Outfitters Turning Triangles Terrarium and Faceted Hanging Terrarium‘s for a few months now. Every time I walked around the store, I found myself drawn to them again and again. I am always looking for ways to recreate things I am inspired by and this was quite the challenge, but it can be done!
We simply removed all the hardware until just the glass shell remained. I didn’t think it was necessary to paint over that beautiful brass! It was a project that literally took a couple minutes and we only spent $3, instead of $30! Is that a deal or what?!
This terrarium is so large and spacious! It doesn’t have a cover, but it’s really just a project inspired by the UO original design. I love the large geometric shapes of the glass windows and that brass adds a gorgeous touch! It looks perfect in our home and I am so happy my husband didn’t overlook it’s potential!
For now, I placed a fake succulent inside the terrarium until I can replace it with a real one! It’s the perfect size for a small plant, which is great. I always see the cutest succulents at the nursery and now I can show it off in my repurposed terrarium!
What do you think of the transformation? What would you have done with this light fixture? I would love to hear your ideas!
