Violet’s Mini Room Makeover

Violet’s Mini Room Makeover

Violet's Mini Room Makeover | Hello Lidy

I’m so thrilled to show you a little peek into Violet’s mini room makeover! Yesterday I shared how to design your own wallpaper to add something one-of-a-kind to your space. Today, I wanted to share just how easy it is to create, order and apply your wallpaper to breath new life into a room that’s needing a little love!

1. After I designed my wallpaper using my Sprout, I simply ordered my design through Snapbox! If you aren’t familiar with this brand, they are a printing company that has an array of products you can use to make your space more personal to you! I decided to go with one of their products called Peel and Stick Fabric Posters because they were the easiest solution for what I was looking for!

2. For my particular design, I decided to go with the largest panel possible, which measured at 36×54. There are 25 different sizes to choose from, so you have plenty of options!! I then measured my accent wall in the space, both the height and width. Then I calculated how many squares it would take to cover that wall, plus more for that extra wiggle room.

For example, my walls measured at 126 x 97. So my wall height (126) divided by the panel height (36) came out to be 3.5, so I simply rounded it up to 4. Then, my wall width (97) divided by the panel width (54) gave me 1.7, which I rounded up to 2. 2 panels up x 4 panels across gives you 8 panels total. I know this is like a math lesson, but just to show you how I figured it all out!!

3. Once I was done doing my little math configuration, I placed my order. Within days I got my wallpaper – which was amazing!! Applying the wallpaper to your wall is the easiest part by far. Simply peel off the back and carefully stick them to your wall, making sure to line up your patterns as evenly as possible. You can remove the excess trim by using an X-acto knife. Disclaimer: This is NOT a one-man job. I tried and failed miserably!! So if you have an extra set of hands, be sure to ask for some assistance. It will make it a lot easier. The panels are just so big, they tend to stick when you don’t want them to. I’m sure if you ordered the panels a bit smaller, you could do it on your own!

4. Sit back and enjoy the fruits of your labor!! I absolutely LOVE the finished look!

Now, Violet’s room has so much character. We wanted a bit of that Scandinavian influence to tie in the rest of the house and I think the pattern and colors are perfect! Most of all, Violet loves her new wall and that’s all that counts.

What do you think about this whole wallpaper business?!

XOXO, Lidy
