This year, I am leaning towards a nice clean and fresh look for Easter. I came across some fun Wood Egg Boxes from West Elm! I thought they were adorable and wanted a few to put around the house as part of some fun Easter decor! But one day I was wandering around Beverly’s and came across some simple wooden eggs. Suddenly, I was struck with a few ideas!
I thought about painting them, doing some fun decoupage, glitter, sharpie art…but then I remembered the simple beauty of those West Elm egg boxes and decided, what would be so wrong to leave them plain? And so I did! I am loving the natural wood look – you can see the organic patterns in each egg. I love the simplicity and how they can go with anything I pair them with.
I still might go and get a few more and do something neat with them, so stay tuned! Some I will leave as is and others I will change up a bit. Still keeping that clean and fresh look of course! I know it seems silly to just pick up some wood eggs from a craft store and not touch them, but really, why not! No one says you HAVE to do anything to them…so I might just enjoy them!
Perhaps I can change them next year, but right now I’m feeling inspired by the natural look. I need a break from traditional Easter deco, perhaps something that makes people scratch their heads and ask why. To me, design should be intentional and also inspiring. These wooden eggs are just that!
What do you think about this look and project? Would you do something differently with these wooden Easter eggs?
