The other day, I created a post of inspiration for the party. I’ve slowly been collecting stuff over the months and trying to plan out the details of the party. I really have been distracted this week with so many things going on. I finally had a chance to lay it all out and see what I had to work with so far!
I found the most brilliant invites from Target of woodland creatures (and a few other animals) that were also masks! I thought this was PERFECT! I could send out the invites and the kids could bring them to the party and wear them for fun – I know our little guy will love this! He’s already picked out the fox and our little girl picked out the bunny.
I came across some great earthy mushrooms for the cake toppers from Michael’s. I am just on the look out for a fun little creature to add as well – perhaps a little bear or deer?
I decided to keep the decor simple, so I have a nice blank banner to work with that I can add some detail too. I’m thinking of adding moss in some way. We will see! I also came across some fantastic birthday placemats from World Market with activity sheets on the back. Our son loves this when we go to restaurants, so I will have some crayons at all the picnic tables and these fun sheets to keep them kids busy!
I also love these ride striped straws and red chevron candy bags. I think they work well, they remind me of those red and white mushroom tops! I might have to find a few to tie it all together! The rest of the details are those last minute touches that seem to bring it all together at the end! No matter what, the zoo will bring a fun atmosphere to the party and the kids will have a blast! I love that they can venture around and look at all the animals while we’re all there. I might even have to set up some sort of treasure hunt!
I can’t wait to celebrate our son’s first birthday as a family! He’s going to be three, I can’t believe it!
